Coaching Points

When you jump into the hoop, enter from the side of where your friend is holding. jumping forwards towards them could be dangerous if you fall onto them. Remember to bend your knees, swing your arms forwards and land with control. Start off with the hoop low and gradually increase the height.

You will need: Flat Hoop

Bronze Challenge

Place the hoop at a comfortable height between your ankle and knee. Can you jump into the hoop without touching it?

Silver Challenge

Place the hoop at a comfortable height between your ankle and knee. Can you jump in and out of the hoop without touching it?

Gold Challenge

Place the hoop at a comfortable height between your ankle and knee. Can you jump in and out of the hoop without touching it jumping sideways?

Coaching Points

Kick the ball really softly. After each kick, move your body around the ball so that you are ready dribble again. The ball should follow a zigzag pathway on the floor; push it across and in front of the toes of your standing foot when you use the inside, and pushing it away to the side of the body when you use the outside of your foot.

You will need: Large Perforated Ball

Can you complete 6 touches with the inside/outside of both your left and right foot?

Silver Challenge

Can you complete 12 touches with the inside/outside of both your left and right foot?

Gold Challenge

Can you complete 24 touches with the inside/outside of both your left and right foot?

Coaching Points

Ensure the throw goes just above the head and stays within catching distance. Keep watching the ring all the way from your hand, in the air and back into your hand. Stretch your fingers as you get ready to catch, move the hand to underneath the ring as it falls down; squeeze it securely when you feel it land. Try practicing each part independently.
