Coaching Points

Place the front edge of the hoop on top of one foot and stand with the feet side by side. To get the hoop to move around, simply move the foot with the hoop on forwards so that it clips the back of the other heel. This will set the hoop in motion, simply lift the standing foot as the hoop comes around. Try to get one revolution, then two in a row and so on until you have mastered the movement.

You will need: Flat Hoop

Can you swing the hoop around your left foot and step over it with your right foot continuously?

Can you swing the hoop around your right foot and step over it with your left foot continuously?

Coaching Points

The key to this task is to make sure you start with the ring in the opposite hand to the foot that you step forward with, start slow and build up your speed.

You will need: Rubber Rings

Bronze Challenge

Pass the ring under the legs for 5 steps

Silver Challenge

Pass the ring under the legs for 10 steps

Gold Challenge

Pass the ring under the legs for 15 steps

Coaching Points

Quickly open your hands to release the rope. Hold the rope higher to make it easier for the catcher, or lower to make it harder. When catching concentrate on the task and focus on the rope. Think about, and practice, the movement of the arms to build up speed and muscle memory.
