Coaching Points

Practice standing up as quickly as you can to begin with. When completing the task, try to keep your eyes on the bib at all times.

Coaching Points

Roll the hoop with speed so that it travels straight to your partner. Begin by standing closer together to make it easier.

You will need: Flat Hoop

Bronze Challenge

Start facing your partner, 6 steps apart. Everytime you both successfully roll and catch the hoops to one another take a step backwards further apart. If the hoops fall before they get to your partner, take a step forwards closer together. Set yourself a challenge to get up to.

Silver Challenge

How many times can you roll the hoops to one another in 60 seconds?

Gold Challenge

Can you roll the hoops to one another balancing on only one leg?

Coaching Points

When both bibs are in the air you need to decide if you can catch them both at the same time(Are they within arms length?), if you can you may have to focus your gaze between the two bibs instead of looking at only one. If you feel the bibs are too far apart for you to catch them at the same time, you need to work out, which is going to fall to the ground first/last or which is closest to you. Quickly plan a route in your head and commit to catching them.

Stand side ways on to the bucket in a star shape, look at the bucket and make sure the beanbag brushes past your ear as you throw it forwards. Bring your aiming arm backwards as you throw.

Coaching Points

Try to make the centre player move by faking throws, once they are moving or jumping in the air, it is much harder for them to change direction, giving you an easier target to aim at. Follow through with the throwing arm to point at the target, this should give you more accuracy.

Coaching Points

Pull the rope quickly, directly upwards to give your partner the best chance of catching the rope. To catch it; keep your eyes fixed on the end of the rope that you are going to catch and get your hands ready.

Coaching Points

Keep two hands on the ring when you are passing it to your partner. Before letting go, make sure your partner has a firm grip of the ring. Try to keep your balance when reaching under the legs, by moving slowly at first and then building the speed up.

Coaching Points

Try to keep your head and upper body as still as it can be, stand up straight with your arms out to the side and bend the knee on your standing leg so that you are lower to the ground; this will help you stay balanced. Tense your core muscles and push down into the ground through the standing leg. The leg that is being pulled should be relaxed and act as a shock absorber to the various directions the partner chooses to pull. Try not to fight the ropes by pulling too hard back against your partner with your non standing leg.

Coaching Points

After each exchange, take a moment to pause and think about the next action. The trick is to stay in time, to help you could countdown from 3,2,1 before you throw the ring.

Stand 8 steps apart. Complete 20 throws and catches without the rings hitting the floor or the players moving their feet.

Coaching Points

When dribbling, try to keep the ball under control and close to your feet by taking softer touches. Look up to see where the defender is, and which direction they are travelling. If the ball is rolling away from you, bring the speed under control again by putting your foot on the top of the ball to trap it.

Give the hoop a really good spin to give your partner more time. Let the hoop slow down before you jump inside.
