Coaching Points
When dribbling, try to keep the ball under control and close to your feet by taking softer touches. Look up to see where the space is and try to trick the defender by pretending to go one way and then going the other way.
You will need:Bronze Challenge
Can you dribble past the hopping defender 3 times with your left foot and 3 times with your right foot without being caught?
Silver Challenge
Can you successfully dribble past the hopping defender with 3 different sized balls?
Gold Challenge
Compete against another player and win the match by dribbling through the gate 5 times without being caught by the hopping defender.
Coaching Points
Move slowly with control, keep your eyes focused on a small, still point as you balance, squeezing your muscles in your bottom, stomach and legs.
Bronze Challenge
Lift your foot away from the body and back again 3 times without touching the floor with the foot
Silver Challenge
Lift your foot away from the body and back again 5 times without touching the floor with the foot
Gold Challenge
Lift your foot away from the body and back again 8 times without touching the floor with the foot
Coaching Points
Keep focused on the centre of both of the objects, you have to rely on your peripheral vision (wider awareness) instead of looking at one object or the other. To do this the throws need to be good and you must rely on your sense of feeling/touch when you feel the ring hit your hand. To begin practice with slower moving objects such as 2 dance scarves, then use 1 ring and 1 dance scarf before completing the full task.
