Coaching Points

When you are catching the ball, make sure you have your hands out in front of you and you already have your knees bent so that you are ready to jump up into the air as soon as the ball is thrown. Timing is key to this activity so concentrate as you have two tasks to complete in a very short space of time; jumping and catching.

You will need: Large Foam Ball

Bronze Challenge

Stand 6 steps apart, catch 10 in a row

Silver Challenge

Stand 8 steps apart, catch 20 in a row

Gold Challenge

Stand 10 steps apart, catch 30 in a row

Coaching Points

Stand up tall throughout the movement and lift your knees up to 90 degrees. Lift the opposite arm to the raised leg. Make sure you have enough space to place your second foot down in between the cones by placing the first foot as far into the space as you can. Once you have the technique mastered, pump the arms and legs as quickly as you can.

Bronze Challenge

Practice this activity moving sideways to both your left and right sides.

Silver Challenge

Teach a friend how to perform this movement!

Gold Challenge

Change the spacing between the cones to be random, some bigger and some smaller. Practice this activity and decide if it was easier or harder than regularly spaced cones.

Coaching Points

Take your time and concentrate on a good underarm throw technique(stance, grip, swing and release), move fast when retrieving your beabag.
