Coaching Points

Strike the ball with the laces, getting the foot right under the ball; curl the toes up so that the ball spins back towards the body.

You will need: Large Foam Ball

Bronze Challenge

Complete the task 3 times with your stronger foot

Silver Challenge

Complete the task 3 times with your weaker foot

Gold Challenge

Complete the task consecutively 3 times with the left foot and 3 times with the right foot

Coaching Points

It is important that the hoop is upright before you kick it. You do not need to kick the hoop hard to get it up off the ground. Try a small kick first then build up the power/height. The trick to not getting your leg tangled up in the hoop is to move it out of the way as quickly as possible after you have struck the top.

You will need: Flat Hoop

Can you kick with your dominant foot and catch with both hands?

Silver Challenge

Can you kick with your non-dominant foot and catch with both hands?

Gold Challenge

Can you kick with one foot and catch with the opposite hand?

Coaching Points

As you draw your knee up and into your chest, lean backwards. As you extend your knee over the top of the object, swing your leg downwards, striking the object with the heel of the foot. Practice the movement in your own space before striking an object such as a ball.

Practice the technique of the axe kick movement in your own space.

Silver Challenge

Practice the technique of the axe kick movement striking an object!

Gold Challenge

Teach a friend how to perform the axe kick!
