Coaching Points

Aim to land each hop in between the cones. Before you take off again, check that you are balanced. Think about the position of your upper body and head when you are hopping, if you are leaning too far forward you will find it difficult to hop backwards, and vice versa. If you lose control, take your time and get set again before you continue. Practice with your left and right foot.

Coaching Points

When you put the hoop down on the floor, make sure it is close enough for you to step straight inside. Move as quickly as you can!

Bronze Challenge

Practice traveling in different directions moving through the hoop.

Silver Challenge

Can you compete in a race against a friend moving through the hoop? You can decide the start and finish line!

Gold Challenge

Can you move through the hoop balancing on only one leg when you step in the hoop?

Coaching Points

As you prepare to jump bend your knees and swing your arms backwards behind the body, jump by pushing down through your leg, swinging the arms forwards. Lean the body both forwards and towards the side that you are landing on when you are about to jump. Whilst you are in the air, swap the positions of the legs so that the non standing leg is raised out in front of the body. Pause for a few moments until you have captured your balance before you jump again.

Bronze Challenge

Complete the challenge 5 times without bouncing or wobbling. Take a 3 second pause between each jump.

Silver Challenge

Interlace your fingers and raise your hands above your head. Complete the challenge 5 times without bouncing or wobbling. Take a 3 second pause between each jump.

Gold Challenge

Touch the floor with both hands before you jump. Complete the challenge 5 times without bouncing or wobbling. Take a 3 second pause between each jump.

Coaching Points

Start off with large stationary hops, swinging the rope slowly before beggining to hop in a forwards direction.

Can you hop forwards whilst skipping 6 times in a row on both your left and your right foot?

Silver Challenge

Can you do a small hop forwards followed by a long hop forwards whilst you skip for 30 seconds?

Gold Challenge

Can you do a low hop forwards followed by a high hop forwards whilst you skip for 30 seconds?
