Coaching Points

Focus on giving the hoop a strong spin so that it spins for a long time.

You will need: Flat Hoop

Bronze Challenge

Ensure the hoops are at least 10 steps apart, can you keep both hoops spinning for at least 45 seconds?

Silver Challenge

Ensure the hoops are at least 15 steps apart, can you keep both hoops spinning for at least 45 seconds?

Gold Challenge

Ensure the hoops are at least 20 steps apart, can you keep both hoops spinning for at least 45 seconds?

Coaching Points

Bend your knees and get the body down low as you turn, try to take smaller steps instead of a big lunge as this will be faster. Practice running to the cones in different orders, which do you find the fastest?

Create a new rule for the activity and play your version with your friends.

Coaching Points

This game is all about speed and agility and being able to change direction quickly. To attacker must keep looking at the tagger at all times to know which direction to run. The defender can try and fool the attacker by changing directions and running the other way to tag the attacker. The best time for the defender to turn and go the other way is when the attacker loses concentration and stops looking at the defender. Make it easier for the defender by making the rope shorter, or harder by making the rope longer.

You will need: Ropes

Can you avoid being caught for 20 seconds & catch your partner in under 20 seconds?

Silver Challenge

Can you avoid being caught for 30 seconds & catch your partner in under 15 seconds?

Gold Challenge

Can you avoid being caught for 40 seconds & catch your partner in under 10 seconds?

Coaching Points

When dribbling, try to keep the ball under control and close to your feet by taking softer touches. Try to stay away from the defender by looking up to see where the defender is and also where the space is. Try not to panic if the defender is close to capturing you and focus on your dribbling skills.

You will need: Disc Cones Large Perforated Ball

Can you play for 30 seconds, without being caught by the defender or losing control of your ball?

Can you score 10 points in under 2 minutes?

Gold Challenge

When you are defending, can you tag a dribbler in under 30 seconds?

Coaching Points

Find a space and scan all around you. Try to move your body so that you can always see the other players, If a player manages to get behind you or out of your line of vision, they may be able to tag you. Equally, you should try to get yourself into positions where the other players cannot see you so that you can tag them.

Bronze Challenge

Can you manage to tag other players on the back more times than they tag you?

Silver Challenge

Can you manage to tag other players on the back a streak of 5-times without being tagged yourself?

Gold Challenge

Can you win a game by scoring the most successful tags in 60 seconds?

Can you trap the dribblers ball with the cone in under 15 seconds?

Play 3 games of 1 minute with at least 2 other friends. Can you survive all three games without being the defender at the end of each game?
